You will lead the backend engineering team building GitLab’s Software Supply Chain Security Add-On, including capabilities such as dependency enforcement, build provenance, malicious package detection, and artifact signing. You will develop the team and coordinate delivery, planning, and product and engineering partnerships for customers with security and compliance needs.

  • Guide the backend team building the SSCS Add-On.
  • Drive engineering delivery for general availability milestones with the Staff Backend Engineer and Product Manager.
  • Develop the team through hiring, 1:1s, performance reviews, and career conversations.
  • Monitor cycle time, defect rates, and test coverage, and address risks early.
  • Coordinate quarterly planning and roadmap tradeoffs with SSCS stage leadership and Product.
  • Represent the team in stage leadership discussions and support cross-functional communication.

דרישות

  • Over 3 years of experience guiding backend product engineering teams in security, DevOps, or platform engineering.
  • Experience hiring and growing backend or security engineers in distributed teams.
  • Experience managing delivery across multi-quarter product roadmaps and cross-team dependencies.
  • Technical credibility in architecture discussions involving package registries, CI/CD pipeline security, and signing infrastructure.
  • Clear written communication and comfort working asynchronously in a documentation-driven organization.

  • Familiarity with supply chain security, artifact management, or compliance-focused products.
  • Working knowledge of SLSA and Sigstore.
  • Experience with related security or platform engineering domains.

  • Over 3 years of experience guiding backend product engineering teams in security, DevOps, or platform engineering.
  • Eligible to work remotely from one of the listed locations: Australia, Canada, Israel, or the United States; or based in Bangalore, India.
